Which is the front of a mug?
The back/inside faces the drinker. Most promo companies go this way as well. The images faces away from the right handed drinker for all to see so is obviously the front.. if only life was that easy.

What vinyl do you use for mugs?
651 is great for mugs because of it’s permanent adhesive strength – however keep in mind it’s not considered dishwasher or microwave safe so you’ll want to hand wash. After applying 651 vinyl to a mug be sure to let it cure (sit) for about 48 hours before washing. This just lets the adhesive come to full strength.

If you plan to decorate more than one mug, print as many designs as you can fit on one sheet of decal paper to minimize waste. Inkjet decals are similar to any other water-activated decal. Water soaks through the paper backing and softens the glue.

Center the decal over your mug. The gridline transfer tape makes it easier to line things up and make sure your decal is straight. Use your finger to rub the decal onto the mug. Don’t worry about the transfer tape becoming wrinkled.
