How do you make waterslide decals permanent?
Place on the bottom rack of your oven preheated to 250 degrees F. Bake for one hour. Turn the oven to 300 degrees for another 15 minutes; then to 350 for 15 minutes; and to 400 for 15 minutes. If your oven’s thermostat is accurate, you should notice the waterslide decal has become quite shiny.
How long do you bake a waterslide on a mug?
This is how I bake the waterslide decal mugs: Put them in a cold oven, turn it on to 300F and bake for 20-30 minutes. Then let them cool in the oven. Let the mugs cure for a few days before you get them wet.

Turns out HTV works great on ceramic mugs too! I wouldn’t put it through a dishwasher, but it will definitely hold up to a handwashing.
What vinyl do you use on coffee mugs?
651 is great for mugs because of it’s permanent adhesive strength – however keep in mind it’s not considered dishwasher or microwave safe so you’ll want to hand wash. After applying 651 vinyl to a mug be sure to let it cure (sit) for about 48 hours before washing. This just lets the adhesive come to full strength.
